Kettlebell Ttraining
Kettlebells originated from Russia and were
used in strongman competitions and to train special forces. They
are cast iron weights that resemble a cannonball with a suitcase-like
handle. Kettlebells may be used for a wide range of strength activities
and, due to the off-centered weight of the kettlebell, require extreme
control and muscle coordination. Though they may be used for more
traditional weight training exercises, performing dynamic, total
body movements recruit more stabilizing muscles. Moving the kettlebells
through a variety of challenging exercises will definitely burn
more calories, build muscular endurance, and benefit the cardiovascular
system like no other workout. Kettlebells continue to become more
popular because they allow you to accomplish so much more in less
amount of time.
Kettlebells are a change of pace from the norm and may be used by
anyone, though each exercise is taught with safety first. A must
workout for those looking to build strength and burn fat.
Core/Spinal Stabilization
This program is designed for individuals who have a history
of lower back and hip problems, or exhibit considerable weakness
in the core musculature. The core, or central region of the body
(abdominal, gluteal, and back muscles) is the meeting point of all
forces entering the upper and lower body. Strengthening the core
muscles of the trunk and pelvis can lead to gains in an individual’s
balance, coordination, and agility, as well as strength, power,
and endurance. Depending on the individual’s limitations and
capabilities, exercises will be introduced to help develop the ability
to activate the appropriate core muscles. There is no one routine
for a weak or unstable core, so each routine is specifically designed
to meet the individual’s needs.
